We’ve got huge news – rugby field-sized, you could say!
On the 1st of March 2026, Hnry became the naming rights sponsor for the Wellington Regional Stadium – now known as “Hnry Stadium” (!!!).
If you’re not familiar, it’s where the British and Irish Lions defeated the All Blacks in 2017. And where England defeated the All Blacks in 2003. Cheers, Johnny Wilkinson!
We’ve struck up a five-year partnership agreement with the Wellington Regional Stadium Trust, allowing us to champion an incredible venue for future all-time great sporting moments.
Why, you ask? Isn’t this all a bit left-field (mind the pun)? Well, yes! But we believe that we’re the right company at the right time to back this particular stadium. Game on!

We didn’t buy a stadium
Just so we’re all on the same page, we didn’t buy Wellington Regional Stadium.
Instead, we’ve become the naming rights sponsor for the next five years. From 1st March 2026 onwards, sports fans will officially be able to attend matches and events at the Hnry Stadium 🎉
Although our name will be on the side of the building, it’ll still be owned and operated by the local Wellington Regional Stadium Trust. Don’t expect any tax-themed half-time shows there anytime soon (probably!).
We think local and global
So why become naming rights sponsors of a local stadium? Isn’t Hnry a global company now?
You bet we are! We launched in Australia in 2020, opened our UK office in 2025, and we’re growing and hiring in both of those countries. Although we started in Wellington, we’re deeply proud of our global offices, managed by born-and-bred Brits and Aussies who understand the market they’re operating in.
That’s why the Hnry Stadium is such a unique opportunity for us – it’s an iconic Kiwi venue that hosts top-tier international teams. It’s an absolute privilege to think that future sporting history could be made at the Hnry Stadium, whether that’s by England, Australia, or New Zealand (so long as it’s not South Africa, of course 😉).
Even our offices are getting competitive – we have huge rugby, football, and cricket fans in the Hnry Team, and only time will tell whose team will claim the next victory at the Hnry Stadium. We can hardly wait.
Our vision for Hnry Stadium
Being naming rights sponsor of Hnry Stadium means that we will have opportunities to collaborate with the Wellington Regional Stadium Trust team to host events for our customers and the wider community. We’re currently at the drawing-board stage, but if you’ve seen our previous shenanigans, you know that we love a good time.
“We don’t like to take ourselves too seriously as a brand, so people can expect a bit of fun when visiting Hnry Stadium,” says James.
As for our Australian and UK users, there could be chances in the future to get involved – especially during major sporting events. Watch this space!
We know the past few years have been rough, and we want to spread as much joy as possible. Sponsoring the Hnry Stadium is just another way we can get behind our sole trader community, and back the city that’s supported us from the get-go.
